Building a Creative Community
Do you work in, or do you aspire to work in the creative sector? Have you worked with any Into the Light’s programmes over the last year, or possibly on earlier projects connected to the County Durham’s 2025 City of Culture bid? Would you like to find out how you can be involved in the future? If so, we’d love to hear from you as we gather feedback on how Into the Light is progressing and create a community of freelance practitioners who are helping deliver Into the Light.
Into the Light is Durham’s county-wide creative place partnership programme, designed to drive long-lasting growth in County Durham. It aims to cultivate talent, widen access to creative education, enhance the skills of the cultural workforce, and break down barriers to working in the creative industries. We are delivering eight programmes working with ten delivery partners across the County. The skills, knowledge, and experience of freelance creative practitioners and artists are an essential part of this.
We would also love feedback on our work so far, ideas on how we can respond to your needs as active and emerging creative professionals, and how best to work with you building supportive, connected and sustainable creative careers for people in County Durham. Please take time to complete the form below.
Into the Light is a partnership between Beamish Museum, The Bowes Museum, Creativity Works (Create North), Durham County Council, Durham University, Ensemble ’84, The Forge, No More Nowt, Northern Heartlands and TIN Arts. It is funded by Durham County Council, the National Lottery through Arts Council England, the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Durham University. The work is supported by Culture Durham and Visit County Durham.
