Paid 5-day AI Lab Residency – with BRiGHTBLACK at the Leverhulme Centre, Cambridge University
We thought this opportunity will be of interest to County Durham based artists. It’s a 5-day residency in Cambridge. A brilliant opportunity to engage with other artists from around the UK. The deadline for applications is 24 May.
BRiGHTBLACK is the company of artists Myra Appannah and Simon Wilkinson. Since being recruited as artists-in-residence at Cambridge University’s Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence in 2017, they have been exploring the ethical use of AI in the arts.
This year, they are running the second edition of our Electric Dreaming Artists’ AI Lab: a five-day residency taking place on site at Cambridge University. Five participating artists will be selected to explore both practical and ethical frameworks for using AI in their work.
The lab will support artists to:
- increase the time they can spend on creative practice by reducing admin burdens
- use open-source AI as a creative tool
- build communities around their work
- overcome career barriers
- move their practice towards net zero
- gain a fuller understanding of AI history, current uses, and future developments
The deadline for applications is midnight on 24 May.
